Some presiding officers complained about a shortage of essential equipment at polling stations on Saturday, with some having to make up the shortage out of their own pockets.
Staff at the Allama Iqbal Model High School, a polling station in NA-127, ran out of ink pads for thumbprints and had to buy more at nearby shops. The polling station at Government High School in Awami Colony also ran short of ink pads, while there was a shortage of envelopes at Saleem Model High School.
Presiding Officer Sarwar Khan at Saleem Model High School said that they were supposed to pack ballots for each candidate in separate envelopes. “There were 52 candidates here but we were only provided 30 envelopes,” he said.
