The body of a 60-year-old man, who had gone missing in D-Type Colony three months ago, was found buried in the courtyard of his house, police said on Wednesday.
City Police Officer’s spokesman, Ameer Nasir, said on Wednesday that the deceased, Muhammad Younus, was a resident of Mohalla Rasool Pura. He said Younus’s widow, Shamim Bibi, and two sons, Tanveer Ahmed and Sohail Ahmed, had been arrested for murder.
Nasir said after Younus went missing, his brother, Muhammad Arif, had feared that Younus had been abducted and killed by his wife and sons.
He said Shamim Bibi had likewise accused Arif and some accomplices of his of murdering her husband.
“During preliminary interrogation, Tanveer not only confessed to killing his father but also revealed that his brother and their mother were complicit in the crime,” the spokesman said.
Nasir said all three had confessed that they had strangled Younus and buried the body in the courtyard of their house.
“The remains [of the body] have been sent for an autopsy,” he added.
Arif told police, “Younus was not respected at home.” He said, “I tried my best to resolve the matter. I asked my nephews to respect their father…they turned against me as well.”
He said Shamim Bibi had filed a complaint against him merely to distract the police.
