FAISALABAD:

The people should avoid quacks and consult only qualified doctors, said speakers at a seminar on Thursday. The seminar was organised by the pharmacy college at the Government College University, Faisalabad, here at its Hashmat Hall.

Speaking on the occasion, GCUF Vice Chancellor Dr Zakir Hussain said a ‘model and state-of-the-art’ pharmacy would be set up on the campus. He said the pharmacy would also train pharmacists.

Hussain said the pharmacy would also help the community with advice in health related issues.

“The GCUF is making efforts to provide quality education and train people in various trades,” he said.

Hussain also urged the pharmacy students to remain committed to serving humanity. Faculty of Science and Technology Dean Naureen Aziz Qureshi said under Vice Chancellor Hussain the varsity had developed a strong liaison with the medical industry. She said a lot of quality research was underway at the GCUF.

Principal Dr Khawaja Zafar Ahmad said the college was committed to training people through practical work to cater to the industry needs.
