LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Thursday sought comments from the Shadbagh SHO by July 15 on a petition seeking registration of case against a sub inspector for implicating the petitioner in a forged case.

Petitioner Muhammad Zahid told the court that some officials, in connivance with Sub Inspector Abdur Razzaq, a registered false case against him and declared him an absconder. He said he had been unaware of the case registered against him at the Shadbagh police station.

He said on June 19, ASI Younas arrested him, but he managed to obtain bail from the court.

Zahid said on July 6, SI Abdur Razzaq arrested him even though he was on bail and took him to the police station. Zahid said the official then demanded Rs 6,000 for his release.

Zahid said he had lodged several complaints against the official but to no avail.

He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the officials involved, including SI Abdur Razzaq, for arresting him although he was on bail, keeping him in illegal detention at the police lockup and releasing him after obtaining Rs6,000.
