The father of a 10-year old domestic servant, who was found dead in June, was kidnapped by a former MNA six days ago, his brother Nazar Hussain told The Express Tribune on Thursday.
DSP Mumtaz Gondal said, “I saw Abdul Hameed, the father, at former MNA Makhdoom Ahmed Alam Anwar’s farmhouse in Bahawalpur and tried to bring him with me but Anwar’s servants resisted. We called for reinforcements and conducted another raid, but could not find Hameed.” Jameel, 10, who had worked for Hina Gillani, a house wife, was allegedly hit on the dead for dropping a milk jug, resulting in critical injuries to Jameel.
His father Abdul Hameed had filed an FIR at the Shah Rukn-i-Alam police station.
Hussain told The Express Tribune that Faheem Bukhari, Hina Gillani’s husband, had offered Hameed 18 acres of agricultural land as compensation.
Hussain said Anwar, of Muzaffargarh, had also called Abdul Hameed. He said Hameed had been missing since that day, he said. Hussain said he had lodged a complaint regarding the kidnapping against Faheem Bukhari, Makhdoom Ahmed Alam Anwar and Hina Gillani’s brother Zohaib Gillani on Wednesday.
Police arrested Bukhari on Wednesday and raided Anwar’s houses in Bahawalpur, Multan and Muzafargarh. The Multan regional police officer is supervising the investigation.
Anwar’s servants at the farmhouse in Bahawalpur and Muzafargarh have been arrested. Investigation is underway.
