An additional district and sessions judge has sought comments from the Shafiqabad SHO by August 17 on a petition seeking a case against two people for allegedly failing to fulfil a contract and making death threats.
Petitioner Zahid Hussain submitted that he had reached an agreement with Muhammad Irfan and his brother Muhammad Asif four months ago to build a basement in an 18-marla plot at a cost of Rs1.8 million.
The petitioner said that he had hired labourers and started the work. But the brothers soon stopped paying the labourers, telling the contractor to pay them from his own pocket for now, and they would pay him at the end of the project.
Hussain said that at the end of construction, the brothers refused to pay the Rs900,000 they still owed him.
He alleged that they had threatened to kill him when he demanded the rest of his payment.
He approached the SHO to lodge a complaint, but the police officer refused to register a case.
He asked the court to direct the SHO to register a case against the two brothers.
