ISLAMABAD: Police have seized a heavy cache of explosives from a car on Simli Dam Road, in Islamabad early on Saturday, the Express News reported.
According to the report, police recovered between 70-100 kg explosives from a Suzuki Alto in the Bara kahu area in Islamabad.
Sources in the police said explosives were concealed in the gas cylinder and secret compartments of the car.
Police cordoned off the area and the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) was been called.
Police believe that terrorists were using the car as a carrier for explosives, since no detonation device was found aboard the car.
The owner of the car could not be immediately identified and no arrests were reported in the incident.
