LAHORE / ISLAMABAD: Four opposition parties in Punjab announced on Tuesday that the parties will be contesting the local body elections together, Express News reported.
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid (PML-Q) and Jamat-e-Islami joined hands against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for the local body elections.
The decision came after a joint meeting among the leaders of the parties.
Earlier the same day in Islamabad, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) prepared a design to hold the local body elections in the country.
According to the statistics, there are a total of 184,900 voters in 43 cantonment areas all over the country and 1,298 polling stations will be set up for the elections.
