FAISALABAD:

The goal to enrol 256,000 children under the Emergency Enrolment Campaign has been met and efforts are underway to enrol more students in rural areas, District Coordination Officer (DCO) Najam Ahmad Shah said at a seminar at the Government Technical High School in connection with World Literacy Day on Monday.

He said parents should make sure that their children get proper guidance so they can pursue higher education as well. The DCO said that every citizen had a duty to contribute to increasing literacy because a country cannot progress without it.

MNA Begum Khalida Mansoor said that the CM’s enrolment campaign would help bring about a revolution. MPA Kaneez Ishaq said that illiteracy led to a host of social evils.
