DASKA:

The Saddar police have registered an abduction case five and a half years after the incident.

Complainant Muhammad Shafiq said in the FIR that some unidentified men had kidnapped his younger brother, Muhammad Idrees, on April 6, 2008 from Glotiyaan Khurd village three days after his (Idrees’s) marriage.

He said the Daska police had failed to recover his brother.

He said the police had been delaying registration of a case saying there was no evidence of kidnapping. He said it had taken him over five years to persuade the police that his brother had been kidnapped.

The complainant has requested Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar, Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, Inspector General of Punjab Police Khan Baig, Gujranwala Regional Police Officer Saad Akhtar Bhrawana and Sialkot District Police Officer Muhammad Gohar Nafees to take notice of the matter.
