The LHC on Tuesday took notice of a complaint against around 20 Faisalabad police officials accusing them of looting a bus carrying people to a wedding. The court directed the relevant district and sessions judge to submit a detailed report on steps taken by the police.
Musa told police that he was part of a wedding party on its way from Okara to Mureedwala, Faisalabad, when around 20 people, dressed in police uniforms, shot at their bus near Bahlak Toll Plaza. The vehicle’s rear tyres burst. He said the police also broke the rear window. They thrashed the wedding guests and took away cash and gold ornaments. A policeman stood outside the bus and fired several shots in the air. The policemen also kidnapped six guests, the complainant said. On his complaint, Bahlak police registered a robbery case against Inspector Javed Siddique of Chuhng, Sub-Inspector Ijaz Ahmed and 19 other constables but no one has been arrested so far.
