The College of Arts and Design and University of the Punjab will host an art and media festival competition titled Artathon 2013 between December 22 and 25.
Ayesha Khan, media co-ordinator of the event, told The Express Tribune the festival was for young artists across the country.
She said people from all over Pakistan had signed up to compete in nine categories including painting, illustration, graphic designing, photography, music, film making, architecture, textile design and dramatics.
“The participants will be encouraged to be creative with their projects,” she said.
Khan urged young artists to participate in the festival.
College of Arts and Design Principal Maliha Azami Aga said Artathon was a first-of-its-kind event.
“This festival is being arranged to provide a stage for the youth to showcase its talent,” said Maliha Azami Aga. She said art produced at the festival would be judged and exhibited.
