A 17-year-old girl was raped by two men on Friday after she was kidnapped from Sahianwala.
Police said the girl was kidnapped on her way home from work. They said she was taken to an outhouse (dera) near Adda Johal and raped.
Police said the girl told them that she worked at a textile factory and would usually return home along with fellow workers from the same neighborhood. On Friday, she said, she had left for home earlier than usual because she was not well. She said two men on a motorcycle had stopped her and asked for directions.
She said after she explained them the way, they offered her a lift home. She said since she was not feeling well, she accepted the offer.
She said when they took a turn in the wrong way, she started screaming. She said she stopped shouting when they held her at gunpoint and threatened to kill her and abandon her body in a field.
She said she saw a milestone reading Adda Johal near a dera where the men took her. She said they raped her and later drugged her. When she came to, she said, she found herself lying in a street near her house.
She said a neighbour helped her reach home, where she told her parents about the episode.
The family initially called a paramedic to treat her, but she was later taken to a hospital, where doctors confirmed that she had been raped.
The Sahianwala station house officer said that an FIR had been registered under Section 376 (rape) of Pakistan Penal Code against the suspects, identified by the victim. He said the girl had been issued a docket for medical examination. He said the police were looking for the suspects.
