Doctors are slowly losing faith in the health care commission, General Cadre Doctor’s Association Punjab President Masood Sheikh said in a statement issued on Wednesday.
The commission has not been focusing on improving health care in the province, the statement said. The commission should consult doctors in formulating its plan. Sheikh said there could be no improvement in the system until the problem of quacks was solved. No solid steps have been taken in this regard, he said. Doctors are prepared to help the commission in this respect. Quacks were not only openly practicing in rural areas, but in urban centres as well. Dr Rana Imtiaz said the GCDA had devised some suggestions to for the improvement of the health care commission. They had been sent to the body for consideration, he said. “We want to maintain discipline among doctors, however policies that negatively affect doctors will not be tolerated,” he said.
