RAWALPINDI:

It appears the Rawalpindi Police have failed to control robbery incidents in the garrison city, as another goldsmith was robbed here on Tuesday.

Two unidentified robbers looted two kg of gold from a goldsmith at gunpoint in the Ratta area. This was the third gold heist in the city in the last week and the police have failed to make headway in any of the cases.

Goldsmith Jan Muhammad was going to his shop after buying gold from Sarafa Bazaar when two unidentified robbers on a bike stopped and robbed him near Railway Workshop Road, police said.

In the recent past, four unidentified robbers looted 1.2 kilograms of gold in a daylight robbery from a jewellery shop in the busy Tench Bhatta bazaar in the Racecourse Police Station area on Sunday. Similarly, robbers looted a jewellery shop in the limits of Sadiqabad Police Station a few days ago.

The police are still clueless about the robbers’ identities.
