Data Gunj Bakhsh Town on Wednesday defeated Nishtar Town at Johar Hockey Stadium in the district level competitions of the Punjab Youth Festival.
The final score was 3-2. Adnan Butt took lead for Data Ganj Bakhsh in the 15th minute of the match. After five minutes, Abid Bhatti scored an equaliser. In the second half of the game, Muhammad Sultan scored for Nishtar Town in the 52nd minute of the match. Two minutes later, Atif Baig of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town scored.
Weightlifting competitions were held at the Punjab Stadium.
Faisal Shafiq of Ravi Town took the first position in 62kg category followed by Haris of Shalimar Town.
The 77kg category title went to Hameed Faraz of Aziz Bhatti Town. Mohammad Asim was the runner up. Zubair Gujjar of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town won the 94kg contest and Abdur Rahman of the same town finished second.
Iqbal Town won the Punjab Youth Festival Lahore district soccer title when they beat Cooperative Society by 4-0 in the final match at Punjab Stadium.
Chief guests MPAs Majid Zahoor and Malik Saiful Malook Khokhar gave prizes to winners.
As many as 8,824 people participated in various PYF events and 1,045 people moved to the next round.
In the wrestling competition, Abdul Sattar of Data Ganj Bakhsh Town took the first position. Allah Rakha was the runner-up.
In Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Sheikhupura, 4,444 people participated and 89 were victorious.
In Chakwal, Attock and Jhelum, 947 people participated of which 120 moved to the next round.
In Bhakkar, Khushab and Mianwali, 631 people competed and 255 people won.
In Hafizabad, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat and Narowal, 251 people competed and 56 moved to the next round.
In Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot, 602 people participated and 168 won.
In Okara and Pakpattan, 15 out of 30 participants moved to the next round.
In Vehari, Lodhran and Khanewal, 791 took part various sports events and 58 returned successful.
In Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan, 286 people competed and 50 moved to the next round.
In Rajanpur, Layyah and Muzaffargarh, 842 athletes competed and 234 moved to the next round.The chief guests distributed prizes among winners.
