The Supreme Court on Friday ordered the registration of an FIR against two city police officers for arresting Efroze Chemical Marketing and Sales Director Nadir Khan Feroze who was on interim bail.
A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani and Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani resumed hearing of the case. Feroze’s wife had said in her petition that the Lahore police had kidnapped her husband. Her counsel requested the court to direct the police IG to take action against the police officers concerned.
The court reviewed the case record and directed the IG to register a case against the two officers and submit the challan in two weeks. The judges also imposed a fine of Rs50,000 each on DSP (CIA) Dawood Ahmad and Shadman IO Abid Shah. Shadman police had registered several FIRs against Nadir Khan and others involved in the scandal.
