The National Response Centre for Cyber Crime (NR3C) of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a man suspected of credit card fraud, The Express Tribune has learnt.
An NR3C team arrested Imran Aziz from his car parked near Swera Departmental Store in Shadman. A magnetic strip reader/writer machine (MSRW), a laptop , a credit card printer, 154 fake credit cards attributed to several national and international banks, two LCDs (bought using false credit cards) and photocopies of numerous CNICs were also seized from the car.
The NR3C had received a tip-off about gang preparing counterfeit credit cards.
The informant said one of the gang members would visit Swera Departmental Store in a Cuore to make a purchase.
The information was provided to the FIA NR3C Additional Director Azhar Mehmood and the order for a raid was issued.
Officials said during interrogation, Aziz disclosed he had been provided all the counterfeit credit cards and other digital media by Zahid Butt alias Mamu, a resident of Bilal Ganj.
He told officials that Atif, a resident of Allama Iqbal Town, was one of his accomplices.
