Public welfare: Chowinda hospital to be upgraded

Federal Minister for Science and Technology Zahid Hamid said on Monday that all resources were being used to improve the quality of life in Chawinda. Addressing a meeting after inaugurating several development schemes, he said the Chowinda hospital would be upgraded for ensuring better treatment facilities to the people.

The minister announced that a cricket stadium would be constructed in the area to promote the sport. “Work on the Government Tabligh Islamia High School will soon start… water tanks and water turbines in old Chawinda will be repaired soon,” he said.

The minister said the government was taking all possible measures to resolve the power crisis.  “Steps have already been taken in this regard.” MPA Rana Liaqat said all development schemes would be complete by June 15, 2014.

He said the development funds would be utilised transparently.
