Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said on Saturday the government was committed to provision of quality health facilities to the people of Cholistan.
Chairing a briefing at the executive district officer’s (health) office to review healthcare facilities in Bahawalpur, Rafique said no one should be left unvaccinated against contagious diseases in Cholistan.
He said strict action would be taken against negligent Health Department staff.
Rafique directed officials to ensure presence of doctors at medical camps in the region. He said mobile teams would be facilitated and their performance would be monitored.
The adviser to chief minister said four union councils in Cholistan, five in Rahim Yar Khan and one in Bahawalnagar were being provided healthcare facilities.
“Seven mobile teams, four medical camps and five permanent health centres are working… 5,227 Cholistani children are being provided health facilities,” he said.
Rafique said 4,827 children in Cholistan had been vaccinated against stomach infections.
He said 477 women had been vaccinated against TT.

Rafique later gave a briefing on dengue fever in Bahawalpur.
