The police have obtained physical remand of an owner of a computer academy who was arrested for taking objectionable pictures and videos of students to blackmail them.
Al-Noor Computer Academy owner Ghulam Mustafa Kiyani, 35, would take pictures of his students and store them in a hard disk at work to blackmail female students.
A team from the Naseerabad police station raided the academy and confiscated the hard disk containing pictures and movies of students. A case was filed against Kiyani, who lives in the same locality.
Speaking to The Express Tribune on Tuesday, Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Ashraf, who was part of the team, said an informer told the police that Kiyani was blackmailing female students. He confessed to his crime during investigation.
In reply to a question, the SI said the police had not received any complaints from any student or their parents. The police will broaden the scope of the investigation and bring the criminal to book, he added.
