In the process of inspecting NA 124’s polling record, 21 bags went missing. The election commission has sought one week for their recovery. The inspection of 243 polling bags out of 246 has been completed.
Senator Aitezaz Ahsan told the media at the lower courts on Friday that the current political situation posed direct threats to democracy in the country. Aitezaz Ahsan said that the government appeared to be under pressure. He said in case of serious threat to democracy he would support Nawaz Sharif and the government.
He said he would reveal surprising facts regarding the elections results of NA-124, the constituency from where Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s Shaikh Rohail Asghar had contested and won elections.
He said that a white paper would be issued soon. Discussing the challenges of the present government, Aitezaz Ahsan said that efforts were being made to derail a democratic system. He said that the facts would be provided to the people as was their right.
