Pakistan on Sunday routed Nepal 33-14 in a handball match played under the banner of Punjab International Sports Festival (PISF) at Sports Board Punjab Gymnasium Hall.
The hosts dominated the game from the start and grabbed a lead (14-8) by the end of first half.
The home team continued its attacking approach in the second half and won the match convincingly with the score of 33-14.
Shamsher scored seven goals, Zohaib Jabbar struck six goals, Imran Khan, Zakir Hussain and Sheraz Tariq netted four goals each, Asim Saeed and Awais Raza scored two goals each while one goal was scored with the effort of Asif Hayyat.
Bhapin Bista and Sherbahdar Sanjali were the top scorers for Nepal with three goals each while two goals each were contributed by Amar Sharista, Sabrana Dewan and Ram Parshad. Madan Chanri and Krishna Bahadur also scored one goal each.
Pakistan Olympic Association Secretary Haji Khalid Mehmood was the chief guest. Sohail Shahzad and Mirza Sultan Mehmood supervised the match while M Akram and Mehmood Ahmad were technical officials.
Cricket
Pakistan Under-19 cricket team defeated Pak-England XI by 39 runs in an exhibition match at Gaddafi Stadium. The match was part of the ongoing Punjab International Sports Festival Phase-1.
Batting first, Pakistan Under-19 put up a total of 173 for the loss of 9 wickets.
Imran Rafiq and Kamran Ghulam scored 46 runs each. Khurram Malik and Anis Ahmad grabbed three and two wickets respectively for Pak-England XI.
Chasing the target, Pak-England XI failed to survive some lethal bowling from Ziaul Haq and Karamat Ali and scored only 134 runs at the expense of 9 scalps.
Nawaz Ahmad (39) and Asrar Ali (36) offered some resistance for the touring side.
