An additional district and sessions judge on Monday sought comments from Kahna SHO in a petition seeking a case against six men and two women for allegedly robbing a man after giving him juices laced with intoxicants. Petitioner Muhammad Akram told the court that he had hired a band of drum beaters and performers to raise funds for shrine Gaamay Rahi.
He said he hired a group on the recommendation of his friend Muhammad Asif for three days for Rs20,000.
He said on March 10, he and Asif went to pay the band a Rs12,000 advance.
He said group members Ehsan Ali, Amjad Ali, Muhammad Safdar, Mukhtar, Saeed, Muhammad Zahid, Bushra Bibi and Kubra Bibi served them juices and they fainted.
He said when they woke up, Rs34,000 cash and mobiles were missing. He said they then approached the police station to register a complaint against the band of drum beaters and performers but their complaint was ignored by police officials. He asked the court to direct the police to register a case.
