An election tribunal on Friday issued non-bailable arrest warrants for presiding officers of 22 polling stations on charges of rigging elections to the National Assembly constituency NA 73.
The tribunal ordered police to produce the presiding officers before it on April 21.
Sanaullah Khan Mastikhel, a runner-up, had filed an application against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz member Abdul Majeed Khan alleging rigging in the last year’s vote.
He said the presiding officers of 22 polling stations had sent the election results to the district returning officer with a delay of 48 hours.
He said 13,224 votes had been declared void in the constituency.
Khan had beaten Mastikhel by 6,527 votes in the May 11 elections.
