LAHORE:

“The overseas Pakistanis’ convention called by the government is only for people from the Punjab. What message is the provincial government trying to give to expats from other provinces?” Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid president Chaudhary Shujat Hussain said on Wednesday.

He was talking to a delegation of overseas Pakistanis that called on him. The delegation included Sajeel Kiyani, leader Mushtaq Awani, Lord MK Pasha, Chaudhary Parvez Iqbal Lohsar, Abdullah Butt, Muhammad Nadeem Butt, Haji Ghulam Khan, Mian Asad Pagganwala, Muhammad Rafi Khan, Haroon Rashid Ghumman and Shafqat Ali Raza.

Former education minister Mian Imran Masood was also present.

The delegation appreciated the facility of free transport of the body of a Pakistani living abroad started by the PML-Q’s government.

They said previously, donations had to be collected for this purpose.

They said they had come to Pakistan at the invitation of the Punjab government but were disappointment.

“How can a government that fails to solve the problems of people living in Pakistan help those living abroad,” said Hussain.

He said protecting properties of Pakistanis living abroad was essential. He appreciated the role of the Supreme Court in this regard.
