A woman allegedly castrated her former paramour after he married someone else.
Akhlaq Ali*, 30, told newsmen that he had been in a relationship with Nadia, 32, for six years until she was pressured into marrying another man four years ago.
“She asked me to wait for her and promised that she would leave her husband,” he said. He said she now had three children from her marriage.
He said last month he too decided to marry a cousin. He said he informed Nadia and got married last week.
Ali said two days after the nuptials, she called him to and said she wanted to host a dinner for him. He said he was invited to a house near Lahore Square on Friday for dinner. He said when he arrived, he saw that she was accompanied by four strangers. Ali said together they beat him, shaved his hair, cut his eyebrows and moustache before she castrated him.
He said they abandoned him in a field near Peerowaal from where some farmers took him to Khanewal district headquarters hospital (DHQ).
Doctors at the hospital said Ali had had two surgeries and was now out of danger.
SHO Riaz Loothar of Saddar police said Ali had filed a complaint.He said the FIR would be registered after a detailed medical report was received from the hospital.
He said the police had detained her husband but she was still at large.
