The menace of power outages will be eliminated from the country in two years, Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah said on Sunday.
He said the government had initiated several power generation projects. Load shedding will end when these projects are complete, Sanaullah said. “Every citizen has the right to peaceful protest and we will not place any obstacle in Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri’s May 11 protest,” the law minister said.
“But we will not allow anyone to take the law into their hands.”
The government will ensure that routines of citizens who are not part of these protests are not disrupted, he said. “Imran Khan is creating confusion and chaos in the country.
It appears that he does not know how politics works,” Sanaullah said. Commenting on the media, he said the tug-of-war between media houses has become a serious issue and could have repercussions for the freedom of the press.
He said the government believed in freedom of expression and will continue its efforts to protect the dignity of every national institution. The institutions should also stick to their own constitutional domains, he said.
