MULTAN:
Multan Electric Power Company Chief Executive Officer Eng Abdul Rasheed Tariq said on Monday that 197 megawatts of additional electricity will be supplied to the Mepco region from May 4.
He said this would help decrease load shedding by two to three hours. In a press release issued on Monday, Tariq said that the average quota of electricity for the region had been upped to 1,365 megawatts on May 4. The quota for last year was 1,139 megawatts. He said the average demand for electricity last year was 2,700 megawatts…this had fallen to 2,481 megawatts. The Mepco chief executive officer said that there was an average of eight hours of load shedding in the division.
