Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Sohail Lashari on Wednesday announced that it would give the Lahore District Bar Association (DBA) funds for a lawyers’ hospital whose construction has been pending since 2011.
He was addressing a meeting called by the DBA at Aiwan-e-Adl in connection with raising funds for the hospital.
Lashari said DBA President Chaudhry Ishtiaq should give him an estimate of expenses for the hospital and they would be discussed in the next LCCI meeting.
Talking to The Express Tribune, Ishtiaq said the estimated construction cost was Rs50 million. He said in the first phase, an outdoor patient department and an emergency room would be constructed.
He said that former prime minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani had promised to donate money for the hospital’s construction in 2011 but no funds had been provided.
