Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Thursday that the law and order situation in the province was gradually improving and it had helped reinvigorate industrial, commercial and business activity in the country.
He was addressing an event for inauguration of Industrial Exhibition and Cultural Show (Faisalabad Expo-2014) organised by Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) late on Wednesday night.
Sanaullah said the government wanted to bring back economic prosperity for the people. He said it had launched a crackdown on extremist elements which were working to destabilise the country.
He said the industrial exhibition had been abandoned due to security reasons in 2005. He lauded FCCI President Sohail bin Rashid for organising the event.
He said budget proposals presented by the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry reflected its concern for the national economy.
The provincial minister said the government was making efforts to overcome the energy crisis and terrorism.
He said the prime minister had laid the foundation of two projects in Guddo for power generation while ground-breaking ceremony of two other projects was expected on May 28 and 30.
He said that Chinese investment had opened new avenues of progress and prosperity in the country. Parliamentary Secretary for Culture and Youth Affairs Rana Muhammad Arshad and DCO Noorul Amin Mengal also spoke on the occasion.
