FAISALABAD:
Chak Jhumra police on Saturday seized narcotics and weapons from a car bearing official number plates near Bangay Chak. Station House Officer (SHO) Rana Mazharul Haq told newsmen that a double-cabin mini loader with green number plates overturned near Bangay Chak.
He said a man and a woman riding it were slightly injured. He said Constable Shakeel reached the spot and offered to help but the couple beat the constable, took his motorbike and fled. He said when the abandoned vehicle was searched, police found 16 kilograms hashish, two bags with 7 kg opium each, 0.30-bore pistol and 20 bullets. He said Constable Shakeel had been detained but the couple had not been traced.
