FAISALABAD: Residents of Railway Colony in Faisalabad pelted trains with sticks and stones in protest against the demolition of their houses in the area, Express News reported on Friday.
This morning, three houses in the area were demolished as part of an anti-encroachment operation, causing people in the area to come out on the streets.
According to reports, protestors were not given a prior notice to vacate their houses, which were simply demolished today.
Angry residents stopped the Pakistan Express from Lahore and hurled stones at it breaking the train’s windows.
Police arrived at the area soon after the incident; however, a scuffle broke out between them and the protestors.
The protests against Railways authorities are still ongoing.
