Two men killed their father, mother, sister and a nephew over a property dispute near Rodala Road police station on Monday.
Rodala Road Station House Officer (SHO) Muhammad Yousuf Shehzad told journalists that Ghulam Abbas and Muhammad Yaqub, residents of Chak 273-GB Annuana, had a dispute with their disabled father Bashir Ahmad Kharal over eight acres of land. He said the men asked him to transfer ownership of the land to them but Kharal refused to do that. On Monday, Yaqub and Abbas argued with their father and later strangled him to death. Bashir’s wife Sardaran Bibi, daughter Hafeezan Bibi and grandson Amin Hussain rushed to save him but the two brothers strangled them as well.
A police team arrested Abbas. They said Yaqub escape. They said Abbas was apparently a drug addict and had confessed to killing his family over a property dispute. The police are searching for Yaqub.
