Affirmative action: 23 Christian marriage registrars nominated

FAISALABAD: 

As many as 23 Christian marriage registrars were nominated to facilitate the Christian community for getting computerised marriage documents.

City district government spokesman Muhammad Amin said the district government had authorised secretaries of union councils to issue computerised marriage documents to Christian couples. He said 23 Christians had been selected as marriage registrars for Christian couples. He said the Christian community had faced a lot of problems in obtaining computerised national identity cards and passports as the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) and the passport office asked for computerised marriage documents of Christian couples.

He said Advon Masih was nominated as registrar for Christian marriages at Jaranwala, Afraim Hadayat at Ali Town, Anayat Munawwar at Waris Pura, Samson Masih at Sammundri, Siddiqui Masih at Millat Road, Saleem Arif at Canal Road, Elyas Masih at Sohailabad, Nazeer Masih at Bilal Town, Shamoon Hadayat at Sargodha Road, Rocks Masih at Faisalabad-Sheikhupura Road, Ajmal Chughtai at Model Town-B, Arif Jamal at Old Railway Line, Ejaz Masih at Peoples Colony, Asghar Masih at Tandlianwala, Nadeem Masih at Abdullahpur, Yaqoob Masih at Mohallah Ghausia Abad, Salamat Masih at Pensara, Michael John at Jaranwala, Khalid Parvaiz at Chak Jhumra, Imran Sadiq at Waris Pura and Siddique Masih at Dawood Nagar.
