Fruit-vendor’s son tops intermediate exams

BAHAWALPUR / MULTAN: 

Mehran Sattar, son of a fruit-seller, has stood first in the intermediate examinations this year. The result was announced at a ceremony held at Jubilee Hall of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) on Friday.

Iqra Khalid, daughter of an iron merchant and Kainat Zulqadar, daughter of an expatriate, took the second and third position respectively. Sattar, of KIPS College for Boys, secured 1,031 marks while Khalid, of Punjab College for Girls, Khanewal, scored 1,029 marks.

Zulqadar of City College of Science and Commerce got 1,025 marks. In the arts group, Muhammad Tariq, a private student, stood first by securing 901 marks.

Ayub Khan, another private student, took the second position by getting 891 marks. Youail Yousuf, of Government Emerson College got 886 marks and stood third.Addressing the ceremony, Minster for Prisons Chaudhry Abdul Waheed Arrain congratulated position holders, their parents and teachers.

In Bahawalpur, Muhammad Waleed Tahir of Imperial Boys Higher Secondary School Liaquatpur secured the first position with 1020 marks.

Maleeka Ismail of Chishtian Science College for Girls stood second with 1,019 marks.

Muhammad Ahmed Latif of Alpine College of Science for secured the third position with 1,018 marks.

Controller Examination Nasir Jameel Anjum told the ceremony that the intermediate passing percentage was 56.03 per cent.
