Police on Tuesday registered cases against managers of three banks in Faisalabad for failing to improve security.
Police had earlier directed all banks to beef up security due to rising incidents of robberies.
A police committee, headed by Admin Superintendent Police (SP) Maryam Naheed, had visited all the banks and reviewed existing security measures.
In its report, the team pointed out that 131 out of the 437 bank branches had “inadequate and poor” security arrangements.
The bank officials were warned that action would be taken against them if they failed to follow the directions about enhancing the security at the banks.
On Tuesday, police registered cases under the Punjab Shops and Security Ordinance against managers of the banks located at Railway Road, Katchery Bazaar and Montgomery Bazaar.
