Corruption: ‘Pending cases a priority’

FAISALABAD: 

Corruption cases need to be disposed of without a delay, Anti Corruption Establishment Director General Muhammad Abid Javaid said on Saturday.

Chairing a meeting in Faisalabad, Javaid said cases should also be registered against those government officers who were not responding to the anti corruption establishment’s reminders.

Faisalabad Anti Corruption Director Aamir Ejaz Akbar also briefed the DG regarding department’s performance in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He said the anti corruption establishment had received 603 complaints during the first two months of 2013. He said action had been taken on 195 complaints while 258 cases had been disposed of. He said 98 cases had been sent to the concerned departments for further action and 52 were under inquiry.
