The auction of the city’s parking facilities has been delayed again, till April 16, on the request of the companies interested in bidding, said the Lahore Parking Company (LPC) on Monday.
Some companies have sought more time to study the financial viability of the parking sites, said Fasiuddin, the LPC media coordination officer. The auction had been delayed to facilitate them in accordance with the rules, he added.
The advertisement inviting bids from companies for the automation and management of some 250 parking sites on February 17 stated that the auction was scheduled for March 19.
Fourteen companies expressed an interest in bidding and took part in the pre-bid conference on March 4.
The LPC did not give them an assessment report and instead asked that they do their own survey of the sites. Consequently, they asked for the auction to be delayed till April 2.
The interested companies are the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO), Toll Link, Inbox, Altruistic Global Communication Network (AGCN), UCS, Mesi Enterprises, Golden Eagle Training, Chaudhry and Company, Vital International, KT, AA Enterprises, Future Link Green Parking, Theeta Technology Ltd and ICT.
Toll Link, AGCN, ICT and FWO wanted more time to study the sites and asked for the extension, said LPC officials.
The companies are to submit a technical bid, outlining how they intend to achieve the automation of the parking sites, and a financial bid. The technical bids will be assessed on April 16.
The companies whose technical bids are deemed suitable will have their financial bids opened at a later date. The highest bid will win.
