Construction and welfare: Management trainees briefed over development projects

FAISALABAD: 

A nine-member team of the National Management Course (NMC) visited the DCO’s office here on Tuesday.

DCO Muhammad Ameen Chaudhry spoke about development and welfare projects in the district.

“The Abdullahpur Underpass is being constructed at a cost of Rs1.8 billion and the General Hospital, Ghulam Muhammad Abad, has been completed at a cost of Rs942.633 million,” he said.

He said the Jhang Road dual-carriageway had been constructed at a cost of Rs913.83 million and the Canal Road was being widened at a cost of Rs698.675 million. The projected cost for the Millat Road widening project was Rs491.52 million, he said.

As many as 700,000 people would benefit from a French-aided water supply scheme being constructed by Wasa with a grant-in-aid of Rs1.34 billion, said Chaudhry.

The district administration has taken several initiatives to boost the agriculture and livestock sectors, said Chaudhry. Farmers and livestock breeders had been provided easy access to veterinary doctors, agriculture officers and field assistants, he said.

The NMC team was headed by Sqn Leader (retd) Ahmed Yar Khan and included Arif Mehmood from the Foreign Service, Irfan Ali and Dr Muhammad Saqib Aziz from the Pakistan Administrative Services, Ejaz Asad Rasool and Sheraz Mirza from Inland Revenue Services, Muhammad Nawaz Warraich from the Police Services, Shazia Rizvi from the Secretarial Group and Akhtar Muhammad Kakar from the Balochistan Civil Services.
