The nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Chief Nawaz Sharif for NA-68 Sargodha and of former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif for PP-247 Jampur were accepted by the Election Commission of Pakistan on Saturday, Express News reported.
Two applications were filed against Nawaz’s nomination papers. In the first application, petitioner Sohail Malik contended that the PML-N chief should be disqualified for his involvement in the Asghar Khan case.
The second application against Nawaz was filed by Afshan Ameer, who contended that the PML-N chief was illegally occupying a property (No. S-58-R-49).
Meanwhile, petitioner Afzal Azeem Pahat sought the disqualification of Shahbaz Sharif on the grounds that the latter is ‘mentally unstable’.
However, Nawaz Sharif’s nomination papers for NA-119 were accepted by the ECP.
