MIANWALI:
A shopkeeper was beaten up on Saturday for calling a girl by phone to check whether she had received the easy load credit sent by him. Muhammad Ansar runs a general store at Van Bhachcharan.
On Friday, the girl got “easy load” from him but returned after some time with a complaint that she had not received the credit. Ansar phoned her to check whether the credit had been uploaded.
After a while, Rana Mahfooz, a relative of the girl, visited Ansar’s shop and slapped him for making the call.
Mahfooz and his four accomplices then dragged him to their dera at Dholwala where he was beaten again. They also threatened him with death if he ever made a phone call to the girl.
