A man cut his wife’s nose on Thursday after she refused to return to him. Thikriwala police said that Hafiz Muhammad Saeed, a resident of Chak 241-RB, had gone with a tableeghi jamaat (preaching group) for a month. His wife had opposed the plan. When he left nonetheless, she left the house and started living with her parents.
On his return, police said, he asked his wife to return home, but she did not. They said he visited his in-laws several times to take her along, but to no avail. On Thursday, they said, he attacked her with a knife and cut her nose. Her parents informed the police and took her to a hospital, where doctors treating her said that she would require a surgery. Station House Officer Sub Inspector Muhammad Khalid said the police were looking for Saeed.
