The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Lawyers’ Forum on Friday nominated 190 lawyers to provide legal assistance to PML-N candidates, particularly in dealing campaign issue like removal of flexes and banners.
It was decided in a meeting held at the Supreme Court Bar Room, chaired by PML-N leader Naseer Ahmed Bhutta, that the candidates be facilitated so that they can focus on their campaigns. The forum deputed 125 lawyers for Provincial Assembly and 65 for National Assembly candidates.
PML-N Lawyers Forum Lahore President Zafar Abbas said they had received complaints of court issues hampering election campaigns.
He said that in NA-120, they had received a complaint against the municipal staff removing campaign banners and flexes. He said the lawyers will provide legal assistance to the candidates in court and police matters. He said the lawyers’ list would be dispatched to party’s Punjab President Shahbaz Sharif and other relevant leaders.
