FAISALABAD:

“There will be no compromise will be made on the price and quality of wheat flour. Strict action will be taken against violators,” Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Food and Environment Departments Manshaullah Butt said on Wednesday.

He was addressing the officials during his inspection of flour mills and shops to check the quality and price of flour.

Butt was on a one-day trip to Faisalabad to check the availability of floor in the market.

He said that sufficient wheat was available with the Food Department and a daily quota of wheat was being provided to the flour mills to ensure adequate supply of flour. But, he said, some unscrupulous elements were creating difficulties for the consumers and they will not be spared.

He said that inspections were being made on the directions of Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif after several complaints were received suggesting a shortage of flour in the market.

Butt directed the Food Department officials to keep a watchful eye on the supply of flour and take action against shopkeepers involved in hoarding and over charging.

Later, Butt called on District Coordination Officer Muhammad Amin Chaudhary at his office and was briefed on the measures taken by the district administration.

Butt also met the representatives of the Flour Mills Association and discussed the mechanism of supplying quality flour in the market.

MPA Rana Muhammad Afzal was also present.
