Polling duties: Absent officials to face criminal cases, says DCO

LAHORE: 

City government officials will face criminal cases if they do not attend training sessions for election duties starting on Wednesday, the district coordination officer has warned.

Addressing officers of various departments of the city district government of Lahore at the Town Hall on Tuesday morning, DCO Rizwan Mehboob said that departmental action would also be taken against those absent from training. He directed senior officials to make sure that all their staff attended.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Sher Abbas Awan, who is serving as liaison officer, said that all government employees assigned election duties must do their jobs with dedication and passion. Negligence on the part of officials would not be tolerated, he said. He reminded senior officials to submit complete lists of their staff to the office of the district returning officer.

The training sessions will be conducted at Government Central Model School Rattigan Road for officials on election duty at NA-118; at Government Chishtia Boys High School for NA-119; at Government Boys Islamia High School Khazana Gate for NA-120; at Government Muslim Boys High School No 2 Civil Lines for NA-121; at Government Boys Muslim High School Urdu Bazaar for NA-122; at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Ravi Road near Data Darbar for NA-123; at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Dev Samaj Road for NA-124; at Government Boys Islamia High School Sanat Nagar for NA-125; at Government Lady McLagan Girls High School Lodge Road for NA-126; at Government Madrassatul Binnat Girls High School Lake Road for NA-127; at Government Girls High School Napier Road for NA-128; at Government Boys Central Model School Lower Mall for NA-129; and at Government Saint Francis Boys High School Anarkali for officials assigned election duties at NA-130.
