FAISALABAD: A woman’s nose and an ear were cut on Sunday following an argument over cattle.
She was taken to a hospital, where doctors treating her said that she would likely survive. They said she would require reconstruction surgery.
Bhowana police said that Shehnaz Bibi, a resident of Chak 466-JB in Khannuana, had an arrangement with Rab Nawaz on taking his cattle for grazing. In return, they said, he paid her some amount.
On Sunday, when she went to take the cattle, they said, he refused to let her take them. This led to an argument and Shehnaz Bibi threatened to complain to the police saying he could not break the agreement.
At this, they said, Nawaz and three others- identified as Abid, Mumtaz Bibi and Pathani Bibi in the FIR- attacked Shehnaz and cut her nose and an ear.
They then fled leaving the victim lying in a pool of blood. Some neighbours saw her and informed the police who took her to a hospital.
The station house officer said the police were waiting for the medico-legal examination report to register an FIR.
He said the suspects were missing.
