LAHORE: Girls secured the top three positions in the annual BA/BSc results announced by the University of Punjab on Wednesday.
A total of 134,880 students appeared in the annual BA/BSc 2013 exams of which 50,281 passed. The pass percentage remained 37.28 percent.
No government institutions could secure top positions in the BA or BSc exams as all the top slots were taken by students from private education institutions.
Sadaf Ismail of Punjab College for Women Civil Lines Gujranwala secured the top position in the BA/BSc exam with 88.2 percent. Sadia Nawaz from Punjab College of Science secured second position scoring 87.3 percent and Gulfam Shahzadi of Punjab College of Science Sialkot obtained third position with 684 marks which is 85.5 percent.
Maria Nawaz, a private candidate from Toba Tek Singh stood first in BA with 669 marks and a percentage of 83.6. Muhammad Fahad Arshad, a private candidate from Shahdara Lahore, obtained 666 marks at 83.2 percent. Chand Hayat, another private candidate from Gujranwala, stood third in BA with 83 percent. The tests were all out of 800 marks.
