The department had launched an anti-dengue campaign and teams including environmental department officials visited tyre shops, junk yards, nurseries, and buildings in the district. However, many slums in remain unchecked. District Officer (DO) Environment Mian Muhammad Nawaz on Wednesday said that the environment department teams had raided 10 tyre shops and five junk yards in the district and detected dengue larvae at eight of these sites.

He said the teams had issued directions to the owners of two tyre shops and two junk yards to maintain cleanliness.
