Planning and Development Department has approved Rs292 million for the completion of delayed Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) projects in Faisalabad.
A meeting in this regard was presided over by Wasa Managing Director Syed Zahid Aziz on Thursday.
He said work on pending projects would resume as soon as the grant was released. He said the grant had been approved under the City Governance Improvement Project and would be spent on rehabilitation of suspended electricity system at Wasa tube wells and renovation and restoration of sewerage and water supply systems in the city. He said part of the fund would be spent to make water works plant in Gulfishan Colony functional.
He said old machinery would also be repaired and boundary walls would be constructed around Wasa disposal stations. He said the government was also working to provide relief to former officers whose pension cases had been pending for a long time.
